Terms of Use
Last updated: December 2025
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the SignBee Academy website, courses, and related services (together, the “Services”). The Services are provided by SBA International Corporation Inc, doing business as SignBee Academy (“SignBee Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
1. Acceptance of these terms
By visiting our website, purchasing a course, creating an account, or accessing any learning content, you indicate that you have read and understood these Terms of Use and that you agree to follow them. If you disagree with any part of these terms, kindly discontinue use of the Services.
2. Who the Services are for
The Services exist for individuals who wish to learn American Sign Language for personal, family, community, or professional communication. Courses serve informational and educational purposes and do not qualify learners for licensure or certification as interpreters or any other professional credential.
3. Accounts and security
Some portions of the Services may require an account, including access through third-party learning platforms such as Teachable. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login details secure, and accept responsibility for all activity under your account.
4. Course access and license to use content
When you purchase a course or subscription, you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to access and view the learning materials for your own educational use in line with these Terms of Use and any plan description at the time of purchase.
All videos, text, graphics, images, activities, certificates, and other materials within the Services remain the intellectual property of SignBee Academy or its content partners. You may stream and view materials, and you may download items clearly offered as downloadable resources for your own study, yet you may not share paid content publicly, resell it, or portray it as your own work.
5. Payments, pricing, and refunds
Prices, plan options, and promotions appear at the time of checkout and may change in the future for new enrollments. Payment processing may occur through third-party providers, subject to their own terms.
Courses are digital products that grant access to online content. For this reason, all sales are final unless a written exception appears on the specific offer page or is required by applicable law.
6. Appropriate use of the Services
You agree to use the Services in a respectful way that supports a safe, inclusive learning environment. This includes a commitment to:
- Engage with instructors, Deaf community members, and fellow learners with courtesy and respect.
- Refrain from harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior of any kind.
- Avoid attempts to damage, disrupt, or reverse engineer the website, platform, or technical systems.
- Avoid sharing malicious software, spam, or unauthorized commercial messages through the Services.
7. Educational and informational nature
Course content exists for education and personal development. It does not replace formal interpreter training, counseling, medical advice, legal advice, or any other professional service. Learners remain responsible for how they choose to apply the information they gain from the Services.
8. Availability and changes to the Services
We may update, enhance, or adjust parts of the Services from time to time, including course content, features, or pricing. Technical interruptions may occur due to maintenance, updates, or issues beyond our control. We aim to restore access promptly whenever such interruptions arise.
9. Intellectual property and trademarks
SignBee Academy, its logos, course names, designs, and related marks are trademarks or service marks of SBA International Corporation. Other names and logos appearing within the Services may belong to their respective owners and appear with permission or under fair use.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Services are offered “as is” and “as available,” consistent with general online educational practices. We seek to provide accurate, clear, and current content; however, errors or omissions may occasionally occur, and language learning experiences may differ by individual.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SignBee Academy, its officers, employees, contractors, and partners disclaim any responsibility for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Services. Where local law limits such disclaimers, they shall apply only up to the maximum level allowed.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SignBee Academy and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners from claims, liabilities, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) that arise from your misuse of the Services, breach of these terms, or violation of any third-party rights.
12. Governing law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless a different jurisdiction is required by applicable local law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may revise these Terms of Use as the Services grow and evolve. When changes occur, an updated date will appear at the top of this page. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of any update indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
